The purpose of this study is to develop and test a structural model for the distance education satisfaction of students studying in Turkish higher education institutions who have to go to compulsory distance education due to the covid-19 pandemic. A total of 334 people attending distance education in Siirt University School of Physical Education and Sports were reached through online platforms. The data obtained were analyzed by two-step approach, measurement and structural, in line with the methodological principles of structural equation modeling (SEM). Within the scope of the measurement model, the compatibility of the research model with the data was determined. In the light of the developing literature, a total of six hypotheses have been developed for research purposes. The hypotheses put forward were analyzed within the scope of the structural model and all were accepted. As a result of the analysis, the direct or indirect relationship of focus, entertainment, perceived utilitarian performance and expectations, with education satisfaction, has been empirically proven. While the results presented within the scope of the research contributed significantly to the ongoing discussions in the related literature, they provided a wide perspective to the new researches to be conducted on the subject. In addition, based on empirically proven results, suggestions were presented for field practitioners on distance education satisfaction.    

Meeting expectations, education satisfaction, utilitarian performance

Bu araştırmanın amacı covid-19 pandemisi nedeniyle Tükiye’de zorunlu olarak uzaktan eğitime geçen, yükseköğretim kurumlarında okuyan öğrencilerin uzaktan eğitim memnuniyetlerine ilişkin yapısal model geliştirmek ve test etmektir. Siirt üniversitesi Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksekokulunda uzaktan eğitime katılan toplam 334 kişiye online platformlar aracılığıyla ulaşılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler yapısal eşitlik modellemesinin metodolojik ilkeleri doğrultusunda ölçüm ve yapısal olmak üzere iki aşamalı yaklaşımla analiz edilmiştir. Ölçüm modeli kapsamında araştırma modelinin veri ile uyumu tespit edilmiş ve yapısal model kapsamında ortaya konulan hipotezler test edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda odak, eğlence, algılanan faydacı performans ve beklentilerin karşılanmasının eğitim tatmini ile doğrudan ya da dolaylı ilişkileri ampirik olarak kanıtlanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında ortaya konulan sonuçlar ilgili literatürde devam eden tartışmalara önemli katkılar sunarken konu ile ilgili yapılacak olan yeni araştırmalara geniş perspektif sağlamıştır. Bunun yanı sıra ampirik olarak kanıtlanmış sonuçlardan yola çıkarak uzaktan eğitim tatmine ilişkin alan çalışanlarına yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
