Generative AI policies
Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies Policy
International Journal of Education Technology and Scientific Researches (IJETSR)
The International Journal of Education Technology and Scientific Researches (IJETSR) recognizes the growing use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in academic research and publishing. The journal is committed to ensuring that such tools are used responsibly, transparently, and in accordance with the principles of academic integrity and ethical publishing.
This policy outlines acceptable and unacceptable uses of AI tools for authors, reviewers, and editors.
1. Use of AI by Authors
Authors may use AI-assisted tools to support the preparation of manuscripts, including improving language quality, clarity, and organization. AI tools may also assist in tasks such as literature exploration or data analysis, provided their use is appropriate and scientifically justified.
However, authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the content. Any use of AI tools must be properly supervised, and the final manuscript must reflect the authors’ own intellectual contribution.
2. Disclosure of AI Use
Authors must clearly disclose any use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of their manuscript. This disclosure should be included in a dedicated section (e.g., “AI Use Statement”) within the manuscript.
The disclosure must specify the name of the tool used and the purpose for which it was applied. Authors must ensure that AI use does not compromise the originality or authenticity of the work.
3. Authorship and Accountability
AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors, as authorship requires accountability, responsibility, and the ability to take ownership of the work. All listed authors must be human contributors who meet the journal’s authorship criteria.
4. Limitations and Ethical Use
Authors must not use AI tools to fabricate, falsify, or manipulate data, results, or citations. Any misuse of AI that compromises research integrity will be considered a serious ethical violation.
The use of AI for generating figures, images, or visual content must be clearly disclosed and justified, particularly if such content is integral to the research methodology.
5. Use of AI by Reviewers
Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential and must not upload, share, or process submitted content using any AI tools. The use of AI for evaluating, summarizing, or generating review reports is not permitted.
All peer review assessments must be based on the reviewer’s independent expertise and judgment.
6. Use of AI by Editors
Editors must ensure that all editorial decisions are made independently and based on scholarly evaluation. AI tools must not be used to process manuscripts, generate editorial decisions, or compromise the confidentiality of submissions.
Editorial responsibilities require human oversight, critical judgment, and accountability.
7. Ethical Compliance and Misuse
The journal follows internationally recognized ethical standards, including guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and other leading organizations. Failure to disclose the use of AI tools or misuse of such technologies may result in manuscript rejection, retraction, or further investigation in accordance with the journal’s ethical policies.
