ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Publication Ethics
- In our journal, it is important that all stakeholders, especially the author (s), reviewers, editor and publisher, comply with the standards of ethical principles. Within the scope of our journal's ethical responsibilities, all stakeholders have a responsibility to comply with ethical standards and ethical principles. For this reason, the author (s), reviewers, editor and publisher are expected to bear the following ethical responsibilities.
- While creating ethical duties and responsibilities, it has been prepared by taking into account the policies and guidelines published by the Committee onPublication Ethics (COPE) "https://publicationethics.org/ ".
Author (s) Ethical Responsibilities
In studies submitted to the International Journal of Eurasian Social Sciences, the author (s) must comply with the following ethical responsibilities:
- Articles submitted to our journal must be original. Articles submitted to our journal should not have been published anywhere before. The article submitted to our journal should not have been sent to other journals for review in the same process / should not be in another journal's reviewer process.
- Since it has not been stated or determined that it has been published anywhere before, the legal consequences that may arise regarding the copyright of the published works belong entirely to the author (s).
- The author (s) should not contact people involved in the evaluation process of the article before and during the evaluation process.
- Citations / references made from other sources need to be stated correctly and completely.
- Author (s) should cite scientific publications that will contribute to the article prepared. Private information should not be used or reported without written permission from the source.
- Plagiarism constitutes all kinds of unethical behavior in scientific studies and is unacceptable. Plagiarism reports should be prepared in the articles submitted to our journal, and the plagiarism report should be uploaded from the "upload plagiarism report" section while uploading the article to the system.
- The exact list of the author (s) must be determined before the article is sent. Changing the author (s) of the article for which the evaluation process has started (matters such as adding an author, removing an author, changing the order of the author, etc.) cannot be proposed.
- If the article is supported by any person, institution or organization, this person, institution or organization should be indicated as a footnote in the study. The author (s) are responsible for the permissions obtained from persons, institutions and organizations.
- The situations and relationships of the article sent to be published that may constitute a conflict of interest, if any, should be explained.
- During the evaluation process of the article, raw data related to the article may be requested from the author (s). In this case, the author (s) should provide the requested data and information to the editorial board and scientific board as soon as possible.
- Ethics committee approval should be obtained separately for research in all disciplines and for clinical and experimental studies on humans and animals that require an ethical committee decision, this approval should be stated and documented in the article.
- All kinds of research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require the collection of data from the participants using questionnaire, interview, focus group study, observation, experiment, interview techniques, the use of humans and animals (including material / data) for experimental or other scientific purposes, clinical trials on humans researches, researches on animals, retrospective studies in accordance with the law on protection of personal data, also; It should be stated that permission is obtained from the owners for the use of scales, questionnaires, photographs belonging to others, and copyright regulations are complied with for the ideas and works of art used.
- Author (s) should ensure that their studies are conducted in accordance with the World Medical Association Code of Ethics (Helsinki Declaration) for experiments involving humans. Studies involving animal experiments must comply with the ARRIVE guidelines and must be conducted in accordance with the UK Animal Act 1986 (Scientific Procedures) and relevant guidelines or the URL of the EU Directive 2010/63 / EU on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes].
- The articles should include a statement that the Research and Publication Ethics are applied.
- In studies requiring ethics committee approval, information about the permission (name of the board, date and number) should be included in the method section and also on the first / last page of the article. In case reports, the information that the informed consent / consent form was signed should be included in the article..
- It is necessary to comply with copyright regulations for the intellectual and artistic works used.
- Researchers who are not members of the university can apply to the Ethics Committees in their regions for the Ethics Committee Report.
- The author (s) must have a document showing that they have the necessary permissions regarding the rights of use of the data used in the article or that the consent of the tested subjects has been obtained. Human test subjects’ privacy rights must be respected.
- When the author (s) detects a significant deficiency or error in their article, they should immediately contact and inform the journal editor / publisher.
- Author (s) must contact the editor for correction or withdrawal.
- The author (s) must fulfill the correction proposals specified by the reviewer and the board.
- Author (s) can object, provided that they show evidence against the reviewers' negative opinions. This objection is examined and if necessary, a different reviewer opinion is applied.
- In order for the studies to be published, the author (s) must take into account the opinions and suggestions of the reviewer and the Editorial Board.
- The legal responsibilities arising from the content of the studies published in the journal belong entirely to the author (s).
Editor's Ethical Responsibilities
The journal editor needs to comply with the ethical missions and responsibilities stated in the “COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” by the Committee on Publication Ethics -COPE- ( https://publicationethics.org/ )

The editor must have and comply with the following ethical responsibilities:
- The editor is responsible for every article published in the journal.
- The editor should keep all records in the journal system.
- The editor should ensure that the article evaluation process is fair, transparent, objective and timely.
- The editor should ensure the continuous development of the journal and follow current scientific developments.
- The editor should appoint Reviewers who are experts in the field in accordance with the subject of the article.
- The editor must keep the identity information of the Reviewers confidential through the practice of blind Reviewing.
- Privileged opinions and information obtained as a result of peer reviews should be kept confidential. It should not be used for individual benefits.
- The editor should observe whether there is a conflict of interest between the Reviewers and the author (s).
- The editor must protect the confidentiality of all reports and content submitted to the journal by the author (s) and Reviewers.
- The editor decides on the approval, rejection or publication of the article after revisions according to the Reviewer evaluation process. It has the right to edit, publish or not to publish the works sent to the journal.
- The editor should support freedom of thought. Regardless of the authors' race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship or political opinion, the articles should be objectively evaluated with their scientific and intellectual content.
- The editor should encourage transparency and honest reporting in the journal's publishing policies and process. Together with the publisher, it should establish a transparent system of appeal against editorial decisions.
- The editor should ensure that authors and reviewers have a clear understanding of what is expected of them.
- The editor should use the journal's standard electronic submission system for journal communications.
- The editor should not make decisions about articles written by himself or related members or colleagues, or about products or services of interest to the editor. It should not allow for any possible editorial conflict of interest.
- The editor should properly utilize the publisher's systems to detect misconduct such as plagiarism.
- The editor is responsible for protecting the intellectual property rights of all articles published in the journal. It is also obliged to defend the rights of the journal and author (s) in possible violations.
- The editor is responsible for taking the necessary measures to ensure that the content in the published articles does not infringe the intellectual property rights of other publications.
- The editor should appoint at least two external and independent Reviewers during the article evaluation process. Reviewers should seek additional opinion from the editor when necessary.
- If necessary, the editor can send the article to the 3rd or 4th Reviewer.
- The editor should provide the necessary information and guidance to the Reviewers in case the Reviewers need it during the article evaluation phase.
- When choosing Reviewers, they should be selected from experts in their field. Best practices should be used to avoid fraudulent Reviewer selection.
- The editor should review the self-citation suggestions made by the reviewers to avoid possible conflicts of interest.
- The editor should not ask authors to cite their articles or products and services owned by the editor.
- In case of reported or suspected misconduct, the editor should examine, evaluate and record the reports objectively and transparently with the publisher.
- The editor should not try to influence the journal's ranking by artificially increasing any journal metrics.
- EThe editor should not request the inclusion of citations to the articles of this journal (or another journal) except for genuine scientific reasons.
- The editor should ensure that the articles are evaluated in an impartial and timely manner. The journal should apply the "Blind Reviewing and Evaluation Process" policies in its publication policies.
- The editor is responsible for publishing every article published in accordance with journal publishing policies and international standards.
- The editor is responsible for ensuring the protection of human and animal rights in the articles during the evaluation process. Ethics committee approval for the subjects used in the articles is obliged to refuse to study in cases where there is no permission for experimental research.
- Editor; is responsible for protecting the personal data of authors, Reviewers and readers.
Ethical Responsibilities of reviewers
Evaluating the reviewed articles with "Blind Reviewing" for objective and independent review increases the quality of publication and provides confidence. For this reason, the principle of double-blind reviewing is applied in the article evaluation process in our journal. In our journal, the author (s) and reviewers cannot directly contact the articles in the process of review. Evaluations and comments of reviewers are carried out through the journal management system. The opinions of the reviewers on the evaluation forms and the article text are delivered to the editors by the editor. The editors should follow up that the reviewers complete the evaluation process objectively, independently and ethically.
Our journal reviewers are required to have the following ethical responsibilities:
- Reviewers should fulfill their ethical responsibilities in the article evaluation process.
- Reviewers should agree to review work related to their field. It should not review articles outside of their field.
- Reviewers must comply with the article evaluation period.
- Reviewers should complete the article evaluation process with impartiality and confidentiality.
- Reviewers need to complete the peer reviewing process regardless of personal characteristics, gender, religion, political, commercial conflicts, citizenship etc. These personal characteristics should not influence the Reviewers' decisions. The evaluation process should be completed objectively.
- When the reviewers think that they are faced with a conflict of interest during the article evaluation process, they should refuse to evaluate the article and inform the editor of the journal on this issue.
- Reviewers should use polite / constructive language and style while evaluating the article they have reviewed. They should avoid comments and expressions that contain offensive, insulting, slander and hostility.
- Reviewers can only use the content of the studies they examine due to the confidentiality principle after publication. They cannot use any information from rejected studies.
- Reviewers can suggest citations that will contribute scientifically to the work of the author (s). However, Reviewers should not make suggestions to increase their citation count.
- Reviewers should not have access to information about the identity of the author (s). If the author (s) 'information is accessed or received, the evaluation process should be terminated.
- Reviewers should be aware of personal biases that may arise during the peer review process and should take this into account while reviewing the article.
- Reviewers should clearly and in detail write the grounds for refusal for candidate articles in the Reviewer report.
Publisher's Ethical Responsibilities
Publisher must abide by the following ethical responsibilities:
- The publisher declares and undertakes to make impartial editorial decisions. The editor is responsible for the entire process of manuscripts submitted to the journal. In this context, the editor is the decision maker, regardless of economic or political gains.
- The publisher protects the property and copyright of every published work.
- The publisher undertakes to keep a record of a copy of each published work.
- Publisher, to prevent scientific exploitation, all kinds of plagiarism and scientific abuse against the editor, etc. It has the responsibility to take measures to prevent crimes.
- The publisher should assume the role of nurturing, supportive and investor in the scientific process.
- The publisher should ensure that best practices are in place in the process.
Editorial Board’s Ethical Responsibilities
- The editorial board should share their experiences in their field of expertise.
- The editorial board should advise on journal policy and scope.
- The editorial board should be in cooperation with the editor to ensure the development of the journal.
- The editorial board should promote the journal and direct new and established authors to the journal.
- The editorial board must ensure that the conflict of interest rules are followed.
- The editorial board should review the articles submitted to the journal.
- The editorial board should follow current developments and changes and contribute to the journal processes.
