This study aimed to examine the career-related anxiety of students studying at Kayseri Fine Arts High School (FAHS) in the 2021-2022 academic year based on variables such as residence, gender, grade, field (art-music), parent’s education level, and family income level. For this purpose, the research was completed in four stages. In the first stage of the research, a literature review was conducted, and in this context, the conceptual framework of the research was created through the titles of FAHS, career, career development, and career anxiety by analyzing domestic and foreign written sources related to the field in detail. In the second stage of the research, necessary permissions and approvals were obtained. Initially, a preliminary interview was made with the director of Kayseri FAHS, which is the subject of the research, and the necessary permissions were obtained by stating the research subject and objectives. Afterward, the research was submitted to Erciyes University Social and Human Sciences Ethics Committee and the ethics committee approval of the research was obtained with the decision of the committee dated 25.01.2022. In the third stage of the research, the implementation phase was completed. Within this scope, the Career Anxiety Scale (CAS) developed by Çetin Gündüz and Nalbantoğlu Yılmaz (2016) and the Personal Information Form (PIF) prepared by the researcher were used. The CAS consists of 14 items in total to measure the family effect on career anxiety (5) and the effect on career choice (9). In the PIF, there are questions prepared to determine the students' residence, gender, grade, field (art-music), parent’s education level, and family income level. The CAS and PIF were applied to a total of 248 students studying in all grades (9,10,11 and 12) of the art and music fields at Kayseri FAHS. In the fourth and final stage of the study, the data obtained from the CAS and PIF were analyzed employing statistical tests. Independent Sample T-Test and One-Way Analysis of Variance Test (One-Way Anova) were used to analyze the research data. For the dimensions with statistically significant differences as a result of the Anova test, the Tukey HSD test was used to determine from which dimension the difference originated. In the findings of the research, it was determined that students' career concerns related to family influence showed significant differences according to the educational status of the parents and the family income level, and career concerns related to career choice showed significant differences according to gender, field and parent’s educational status. The results were discussed through the literature and the research was reported.
