The aim of this study is to examine the reason for the reading of the students in the classroom teacher program. The research was conducted in February 2017. Phenomenology has been used in qualitative research methods. The research was conducted with sixteen students studying at Bozok University Faculty of Education Primary School Teacher Teaching Program. Sixteen students were interviewed. The interviews made with the students were recorded on the voice recorder. The data were analyzed by thematic analysis. As a result of the research, six themes were reached; curiosity, happiness, personal development, modeling, friendship, book types. Suggestions were made as a result of the research.
