TEACHERS' OPINIONS ON PIANO LESSON EXAMS BEING CONDUCTED BY A COMMITTEE IN FINE ARTS HIGH SCHOOLS

This study is a descriptive field research that includes the opinions of teachers on the evaluation stage of the piano course taught in Fine Arts High Schools about the commission or individual application of the evaluation exams. The population of the research consists of piano teachers who teach piano lessons in Fine Arts High Schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in our country, and the sample consists of teachers who conduct piano lessons that can be reached. The data in the study were obtained through a questionnaire applied to the field teachers working in the schools in the sample group. In the MoNE piano course curriculum (2010), there are explanations about making the practice exam common, while in the 2016 curriculum and the current curriculum (2022), the statement about making it common in the measurement and evaluation section has been removed. Despite the removal of the statement about making the exam jointly in the measurement and evaluation section in the curricula, it was determined that the teachers carried out the exam with a joint commission. Although the teachers think that the evaluation of the piano lesson exams by the commission is efficient, they stated that there should be criteria such as common work and lower threshold for commission exams.
