Throughout history, Anatolian soil, a safe haven for immigrants and asylum seekers, is now home to Syrian refugees. The asymmetric crowd naturally increases the cost and the difficulty of the services provided to them. As a requirement of international law and humanity, Turkey serves Syrian asylum seekers in areas such as accommodation, nutrition, health and education. In this study, it was aimed to determine the educational services provided by Turkey to Syrian asylum seekers and the problems that may be encountered in these educational services from the perspectives of Social Studies education. In this descriptive study, data was collected by document review technique based on literature and reports of public / private institutions and organizations. As a result of the findings, regarding the educational services to be provided to the Syrians; It is emphasized that the ideological education that the Syrians are exposed in their own countries should be considered. There are studies in the literature that show that the Syrian curriculum has many elements that contain content against Turkey and the Turkish nation. According to these studies, lessons such as Social Studies, History, Geography and Citizenship education in Syria have been constructed in accordance with the ideologies of Pan-arabism and irredentive Arab nationalism. It has been emphasized that special measures must be taken for the Syrian asylum seekers who have studied with this ideology in Syria to adapt to Turkey. The importance of the Social Studies course at the primary education level for the integration of the Syrian children and young people into the Turkish society and Turkish National Education has been evaluated in the context of the general objectives of the Turkish National Education and Social Studies course.

Tarih boyunca, göçmenler ve sığınmacılar için güvenli bir barınak olan Anadolu toprakları, günümüzde de Suriyeli sığınmacılara ev sahipliği yapmaktadır. Sığınmacıların kalabalıklığı, onlara sağlanan hizmetlerin de maliyetini ve güçlüğünü doğal olarak arttırmaktadır. Uluslararası hukuk ve insanlığın bir gereği olarak, Türkiye; Suriyeli sığınmacılara barınma, beslenme, sağlık ve eğitim gibi alanlarda hizmet vermektedir. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye tarafından Suriyeli sığınmacılara sağlanan eğitim hizmetlerinin ve bu eğitim hizmetlerinde karşılaşılabilecek olan sorunların Sosyal Bilgiler eğitimi perspektifiyle tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu betimsel araştırmada, literatür ve resmi/özel kurum ve kuruluşların raporlarına dayalı olarak doküman incelemesi tekniği ile veri toplanmıştır. Bulgular neticesinde, Suriyelilere sağlanması gereken eğitim hizmetleri konusunda; Suriyelilerin kendi ülkelerinde maruz kaldıkları ideolojik eğitimin göz önünde bulundurulması gerektiği vurgulanmıştır. Zira literatürde, Suriye müfredatında Türkiye ve Türk milleti aleyhinde içerik barındıran pek çok unsur olduğunu gösteren çalışmalar bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmalara göre, Suriye’de okutulan Sosyal Bilgiler, Tarih, Coğrafya ve Vatandaşlık eğitimi gibi dersler, Pan-arabizm ve irredantist Arap milliyetçiliği ideolojilerine bağlı olarak kurgulanmıştır. Suriye'de bu ideoloji ile öğrenim görmüş olan Suriyeli sığınmacıların, Türkiye'ye uyum sağlayabilmeleri için özel tedbirler alınması gerektiği düşünülmektedir. Suriyeli çocuk ve gençlerin Türk toplumu ve Türk Milli Eğitimi’ne entegrasyonları konusunda ilköğretim düzeyinde Sosyal Bilgiler dersinin önemi, Türk Milli Eğitimi’nin ve Sosyal Bilgiler dersinin genel amaçları bağlamında değerlendirilmiştir.
