Principle is defined as a guiding and an undoubted fact. Generally, principles that have been predetermined should be followed in the construction of teaching. Therefore, teachers need to know the teaching principles thoroughly and use them throughout the lesson. In this study, it is aimed to examine teaching principles in the books which are published in Turkey named as “Teaching Principles and Methods”. The research is designed in the descriptive research model of the screening type. The data were collected by document analysis. In order to select the books, various libraries and well-known book sales sites were searched to begin with. The books identified at the end of the study were analyzed in as study materials. In this survey, it has been determined that there are a total of 50 books published under the name of “Teaching principles and methods” in Turkey. The Data of the research were entered into the specification table developed by the researchers. In the study, the number of teaching principles and methods in the books were found 56, While there are 21 principles in the book that contain the most principles, there are no principles in 6 books each book has an average of 9.6 principles and the average of the principles in the books is 8.6. At the end of the study, it was been suggested that Teaching Principles and Methods books should contain teaching principles widely.
