Ensuring that the children could use the preschool achievements during their education at the Primary School and enabling them to do this in a gradual way is one of the issues to which great attention must be paid for a successful transition of the children from the preschool education to the Primary School. The preschool education program should support the primary school education program in order for the children, who receive preschool education, to contribute to the transition to primary school, which is the next education step, with their level of readiness. Preschool education programs in Turkey were updated in 1952, 1989, 1994, 2002, 2006 and 2013. The chronological order of primary school education programs implemented in Turkey until today is as follows: 1924, 1936, 1948, 1968, 1998, 2005 and 2018. The purpose of this study is to determine the overlapping achievements in the field of cognitive and social-emotional development of the 2013 Preschool Education Program and in the 1st grade units of the 2018 Education Program of the Social Studies Course. This is a descriptive study carried out in the form of a survey research. In this study, document analysis is adopted as the data collection method. In the research, it was determined that the achievements of the cognitive, social-emotional development areas of the Preschool Education Program and the achievements of the units in the Life Studies Curriculum overlapped. In the research, 15 of the 22 acquisitions in the field of Preschool Education Program cognitive development were compared with 18 acquisitions out of 53 in the Primary School Life Studies Curriculum; It was concluded that 20 acquisitions in the Social-Emotional Development area of the Pre-School Education Program overlapped with 24 acquisitions out of a total of 53 acquisitions in the Primary School Life Studies Curriculum. There are plans to make the Preschool education compulsory in Turkey. For this reason, it is thought that the cooperation among the field experts while preparing the preschool education program and primary school 1st grade program will positively affect the readiness of children. Moreover, it is recommended that both programs be reviewed so that the learning outcomes in the cognitive, social-emotional development areas in the Pre-School Education Program correspond to the learning outcomes in the Social Studies Curriculum.
